Step #1 - Select your software

Step #2 - Install your software

  • Guru Media Box Setup

    You will need a minimum of 16gb in order to install an image. In order to do so you need to follow the instructions:

    - Clear your sd card
    - Format your sd card
    - Write the image file

1: Clear your sd card

If your have used the card previously with other installs you will need to clear all partitions. Here is an article with instructions on how to do so.

2: Format your sd card

In order to format your sd card you will need to use a program called sd formatter. You can download the software here. After the download you can watch the following video on how to do the format.

3: Write the image

In order to write the image to your sd card you will need to use a program called win32 disk imager. You can download the software here. After the download you can watch the following video on how to do the write.

Step #3 - Power up your Pi

  • Powering up and setup

    The last three steps are all that is left if you have downloaded a restore image. You will want to have a usb keyboard connected to perform the following three steps:

    - Configure your joystick
    - Expand your file system
    - Connect to wifi

1: Configure your joystick

When first powering up your system it will prompt you to configure a joystick. This is made for a usb joystick and should not be done with a keyboard as it can create an error in your configuration file. To read more click on the article below.

2: Expand your filesystem

You can go to the retropie menu and scroll down to the raspi-config. Enter into it and the first option will say expand your file system. Select this option and hit ok. Afterwards you will need to reboot.

3: Setup your wifi

Setting up your wifi is very easy using retropie interface. Just navigate to the wifi listing under the retropie menu item to setup your password.
